Meet the Dering Family...
This is the home of "Town and Country". We are not a kennel. We are a suburban Atlanta family of 5 with our dogs. Our dogs are pets in our home and the only time they see a cage, crate or x-pen is at night at bedtime or when we are running errands. The rest of the time they are running around the house playing with our children, lounging on the furniture or curled up together on their favorite AC vent. We don't have acerage, just a fenced back yard where they run and play and splash in the kiddie pool. On rainy days we get out a couple of x-pens and link them together on the back porch to allow them an outside play room while they are drying their paws.

When we say "raised at home with children", WE AREN'T KIDDING! We HAVE THREE OF THEM: 9 year old Andrew, 4 year old Adeline, and 3 year old Alexander. Our children are allowed supervised play with our dogs and our puppies and we feel that this enhances our children's lives as they learn care, responsiblity and empathy. It also enhances the lives of our puppies as they are played with and cuddled. Andrew earns spending money by helping me bathe the dogs and feed them. Adeline would live in the puppy play pen with them if I let her... the first words out of her mouth in the morning are "Mommy, can we go play with our babies?"

Bartlett & Sprocket (our first Coton)

In addition to our children, our Cotons also have the socialization of our older mutt, Bartlett, a mid-sized terrior/border collie. They also have Squirt the kitty, who is just about the best cat in the world to put up with a house full of children and dogs!

Adrianne & Alex
When my husband and I met, I was a divorced mother with a toddler son. He was a divorced dad with a college age daughter. We have gone in 6 years from two single people with 1 child each, to a total of 3 children, one adult daughter (Recently graduated from U.of Chicago Law), 5 dogs and 1 cat. Life has been hectic and chaotic, but we love every minute of it!
I often wonder when it was exactly when my closet full of suits, heels and stockings was replaced by blue jeans, funky tops and Clarks. I wonder when my budget for dog grooming supplies began getting larger than my salon bill... BUT, I TREASURE the ablity to be home with my children and play with puppies. I also get to get away a weekend every so often to go to a dog show and giggle with my girlfriends.

Family @ Easter with dogs
I am blessed to have a full life and I am SO HAPPY that I have the opportunity to share Cotons with you and your family! I hope that your Town and Country Coton adds as much joy and love to your lives as they have ours!
Sincerely,
Adrianne Dering
